Overview

About this Facebook Downloader

Public Facebook videos disappear into long feeds fast. Nestvedia’s Facebook Downloader lets you capture a public Watch video or shared post clip by pasting its link—useful for saving tutorials, event recaps, or public page updates to review later. Because Facebook privacy settings vary widely, only content that plays without logging into Facebook can be retrieved.

Supported

What you can download

Facebook Watch videos

Videos published to Watch or public page video tabs are the most reliable targets when the watch URL is public.

Public feed posts with video

If a Page or public profile post embeds a video and the share link opens without login, Nestvedia can attempt a download.

fb.watch short links

Short fb.watch URLs are accepted when they still resolve to a publicly playable video.

Reels on Facebook

Public Facebook Reels may work when Facebook exposes a shareable public URL. Private Reels will not.

Guide

How to download a Facebook video

  1. 01

    Open the Facebook video

In the Facebook app or on facebook.com, open the public video until it plays without asking you to log in.

  2. 02

    Copy the share link

Tap the Share button under the video. On iOS and Android, choose Copy link. On desktop, use Share → Copy link. For some posts, open the video in its own page first so the URL is a direct video link.

    Paste into Nestvedia

Paste the Facebook URL on this page and tap Get Video to confirm the title and preview.

  4. 04

    Download and Save Video

Start the download, wait for completion, then tap Save Video to keep the file on your phone or computer.

Help

Common issues & troubleshooting

Friends-only or private posts

If Facebook shows “content isn’t available” while logged out, Nestvedia cannot download it.

Group videos

Closed or private group clips require membership and are unsupported.

Expired share links

Some share URLs stop working. Open the video again from the Page and copy a new link.

Login walls

Facebook frequently prompts guests to sign in. If you cannot preview the video logged out, try a different public Page video.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Yes on Nestvedia’s side—you do not create a Nestvedia account—but the Facebook video itself must be publicly viewable.

Private posts still require Facebook permissions Nestvedia does not have.

Yes when the short link still points to a public video that plays without login.

If the short link is dead, open the video on Facebook and copy the link again.

Public Facebook Reels can work when a shareable public URL is available.

Private or friends-only Reels cannot be fetched.

That means the post is not fully public. Nestvedia will not be able to download it either.

Switch to a public Page video that opens in a logged-out browser.

No. Nestvedia does not burn its logo into the saved video file.

Creator and Facebook rights still apply to how you reuse the clip.

Only if the group video is truly public and accessible without membership. Most group content is not.

Closed and private groups are unsupported by design.

Yes. Copy link from the Facebook iOS app, paste in Safari, then save the file when Nestvedia finishes processing.

Use the Share sheet under the video rather than screenshotting.
